October 04, 2026The “Own Your Time” Campaign, organized by the discipline department, was an impactful, engaging initiative that encouraged punctuality, time management, and school discipline. Students and staff came together throughout the week to build positive habits through a series of thoughtful and interactive activities.
The campaign kicked off on Sunday as Senior and Junior prefects welcomed students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 outside their hallways, distributing meaningful bracelets and stickers representing the SLO Discipline department. On Tuesday, the excitement continued with a stand selling delicious homemade brownies alongside fortune cookies across grades 5–12, featuring special prize-winning fortunes. Midweek on Wednesday, prefects greeted early arrivals in grades 5–8 by writing inspiring messages on classroom whiteboards to start their morning on a positive note.
Throughout the week, students in grades 5–8 attended insightful advising presentations and joined a friendly competition that rewarded classes with the most on-time attendees. The campaign concluded with a video compilation showcasing the winning students reflecting on what they learned about punctuality and its positive impact on their lives. Overall, the initiative successfully fostered a culture of responsibility, dedication, and community spirit—showing that together, we can make every second count.
